This site is dedicated to our family
of rats, past and present, and our own experiences of
keeping and caring for our little furry friends. We hope
that you may find some of the information useful if you keep
any of these wonderful little creatures. We have included as many pictures as possible as
we know that rat-lovers never get
tired of looking at the little guys.
We have been keeping rats ( mainly rescues ) for several years now and yet
we find that no two are alike in temperament, this is probably why we find
them to be so interesting and such good pets.
Although most of our rats are re-homes or rescues and we don`t have any particular
interest in breeding or showing, we attend local N.E.R.S. shows and are
also members of Yorkshire
Rat Club. This gives us many useful and informative contacts and the opportunity to
meet people with a genuine interest in the welfare of fancy rats.
We believe that rats need to be cared for by adults or older
children, they should be handled often to develop their characters
and not be simply left alone or with other rats for long periods.
There are other small animals which will live quite happily without
a lot of handling and they are possibly a better choice if you need a
pet for a younger child or don`t have a lot of time to spare.

In Loving
Memory of Monty.
Monty was a
wild rat who was rescued as a baby by Cynthia, a rat lover and good
friend of ours. With a lot of love and care he grew to accept his
new surroundings without losing his natural character, he was
playful, gentle and most of all, loveable. He will always be
remembered as a very special boy.
